My IBS services are tailored to relieve your symptoms with minimum fuss.

IBS can be so frustrating. Pain, gas and bloating can hit you out of nowhere, constipation is so uncomfortable (and makes your bloating worse) and when your tummy suddenly blows up like you’re 5-months pregnant…you’re left wondering ‘what on earth did I eat today that made me feel like this?!’

There’s a lot of approaches to IBS out there. You’ve probably seen Facebook ads for that probiotic powder that costs $70 a month, or the teas, tablets and detoxes that claim to fix your IBS.

And you’ve probably tried cutting things out of your diet and had some relief with that. But at this point maybe it feels like you’ve tried everything and nothing truly, deeply helps. You tried cutting out wheat, or dairy, and it’s improved things a bit, but you still have those days where it feels like a mystery.

The low-FODMAP diet has recently emerged as the front line treatment for IBS and symptoms like bloating, constipation, diarrhea, and distension. Research shows that a low-FODMAP diet improves symptoms in around 70% of people with IBS. FODMAPs are types of carbohydrates found in lots of fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts and grains.

So you might be thinking, ‘why not just cut out all FODMAPs and be done with it?’, but a strict low-FODMAP diet is really restrictive. If you eat low-FODMAP for an extended time, you’re going to run into nutritional deficiencies, poor gut health, and possibly even disordered eating. Plus it’s really hard to follow and still travel, and eat at restaurants and friend’s houses.

Ideally, you want to eat low-FODMAP for a few weeks (an ‘elimination’), then re-introduce them one-at-a-time to see which FODMAPs you’re sensitive to (it’s probably not all of them).

FODMAP Elimination

If you've been diagnosed with IBS, undertaking a few weeks of low-FODMAP eating is a good place to start to work whether FODMAPs are at least a part of what’s causing your IBS symptoms.

FODMAP Challenges

If you've done a FODMAP elimination and found an improvement in your symptoms, it's time to re-introduce FODMAPs one-at-a-time to work out exactly which foods trigger your symptoms.

If at any time a food causes you significant symptoms you would stop that particular challenge - I will never ask you to eat something that causes you symptoms. If there are particular foods that you know cause symptoms, we would challenge with a different food from the same group.

Gut Health for IBS

I can help you heal your gut from the damage IBS can do, with a personalised gut health protocol that takes into account your food triggers, and allows you to benefit from everything a healthy gut can do: better digestion, sleep, mood and stress management.

All of this is tailored to you

There is a simplified approach to the FODMAP elimination and re-challenge that may be more suitable if you already know some of your trigger foods. I am always mindful that this can be a stressful process.

FODMAP Diet Meal Plans

If you decide to go ahead with a FODMAP elimination and/or challenges, I can provide meal plans, instructions and support.

Elimination Phase: Two weeks of low-FODMAP meal plans and instructions, not customised - $37
FODMAP Re-challenge: 6-8 weeks of meal plans and instructions, customised to you - $165
